The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of matching Dunlap funds benefitting our Pediatric Trauma Program! Thanks to the hard work and generosity of Circle K, KIWIN'S and Key Club, anyone can order a Dunlap or upgrade a Dunlap to the next level for only $500! The remaining $500 will be "matched" by funds raised from our Service Leadership Program members. These matching funds are available on a first come, first served basis until funds are depleted or September 30, 2010, whichever comes first.
The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation established the William A. Dunlap Fellowship in 1985 as a means to honor William A. Dunlap, Past Governor of the Cal-Nev-Ha District and the first President of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation.
Individuals establish membership through a $1,000 contribution or a minimum initial contribution of $250, pledging to contribute the balance over four years. Membership is not recognized until the full amount is submitted and the presentation of the award is made once the total contribution is received.
New William A. Dunlap members receive a plaque, medallion, lapel pin and personalized banner patch. The medallion is worn at high-visibility Kiwanis functions. Diamond-level status is attained by Dunlap Fellows who make additional $1,000 contributions. Diamond recipients receive a diamond lapel pin, and a tab that indicates what level of giving has been achieved. The tab attaches to the lapel pin. A new tab is given for each additional $1,000 contribution.
Clubs, divisions, or individuals may purchase a Dunlap to present to an individual. A donor may designate 50% of the net contribution to be directed to a current program of the Foundation, such as Pediatric Trauma Program, SLP Scholarships or Unrestricted Funds (which the Board allocates depending on need). The balance of the gift is permanently restricted and only the interest is used to support the programs of the Foundation.
Members of the William A. Dunlap Fellowship also receive recognition in donor publications and are invited to special events.

Divisions are asked to promote and encourage the support of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation on an annual basis with contributions by the clubs to the Foundation's giving initiatives. Divisions may also participate by awarding a Tablet of Honor or Dunlap Fellowship for outstanding service to the division or to the communities, whether from fundraising or contributions from clubs or members. One example of a division endeavor to raise funds for a Dunlap is this chart (note its use of legal size paper) to solicit $10 per square (or $5 per square if Dunlap matching funds are available).Once all of the squares are full a winner is drawn and awarded the Dunlap. Then start a second one! This could also be used within some clubs. Click here to download a Dunlap Grid. |
