Grantmaking

Tell us your story! The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation wants to hear about your successful grant project. Upon completion of your grant-funded service project, please be sure to send us the Grant Follow-up Report (available from the Foundation office) as well as photos of your project. And remember, when taking pictures at any Kiwanis sponsored event, you must obtain a photo release from your subject. Click here to download the Kiwanis Photo Release form.

Achievement Award Grants: This grant is in recognition of the accomplishments of your club in carrying out the objects of Kiwanis and our slogan "Serving the Children of the World." Clubs are selected by a committee which grades the Club Service Achievement Report. The fund from which these awards are made has its origin dating back to 1930 when clubs in the Santa Barbara area established a trust from which $150.00 per year was awarded to the four winning clubs of the "Annual District Efficiency Contest." This $150.00 award remained the same from 1930 until 1998. The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation now administers this fund and awards winning clubs in three categories grants of $1,500.

Club Grants: The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation supports Kiwanis clubs' interest in their local community needs. Often, however, a community need may far exceed a club's ability to get the project started. The club grant program was developed in 1984 to assist clubs with seed money when the scope of the project exceeds the club's financial resources.

Disaster Assistance: The Disaster Assistance Grant Program was established by the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation to assist Kiwanians and their clubs in providing immediate disaster relief assistance in the event of a natural disaster.

Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) Grants: As part of our major focus, our Foundation provides grants to assist Kiwanis and Service Leadership Programs (SLP) clubs in financing new service projects which address pediatric trauma and injury prevention. Many times, a club will give up on a worthwhile project because the funds required to start the project are not available. The Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation makes available PTP grants for new projects by providing matching start-up funds. PTP grants may be awarded to a single Kiwanis club; a single SLP club; two or more clubs working together on a single project; or to a single division in which all clubs are working together on the project.

PTP Grants for Partner Hospitals: The Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation makes available grants to our Partner Hospitals to assist them with their unfunded needs directly related to pediatric trauma and injury prevention. Examples may include, but are not limited to the following: providing funding to train doctors and nurses in advanced pediatric courses; purchasing pediatric medical equipment; and supporting existing and new community outreach programs.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): The FCA grant program was established through a gift to the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation to support Kiwanis clubs in sponsoring underprivileged students attending FCA Summer Camp by providing Kiwanis clubs with grants to help cover camp enrollment costs.

Hope 4 Kids Grants: The Hope 4 Kids Grant was established to make it possible for Kiwanians to provide aid to children and families that are living in shelters or who are (or are about to be) living on the streets. Grant funds are to be applied towards housing costs only.

Notice: The Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation only accepts grant applications from members of the Kiwanis family in the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of Kiwanis International, and from our established network of partner children's hospitals. We apologize that we are unable to fund organizations outside of this scope.
